The statistic for children born with developmental delays is extremely concerning. Each year we are seeing increasing numbers of children diagnosed with Autism, Down’s Syndrome and other related developmental delays. Parents are now seeking natural parent-based early intervention techniques they can easily implement in their own homes with their own toys. At Play Away Delays, I want to give you the simple, FREE play-time techniques to start to implement as soon as you bring home baby or as soon as you have concerns your child or grandchild may have a developmental or speech delay.

I have gained in experience with remarkable success in teaching children with significant delays to develop and increase in communication skills, they gained in social skills, fine and gross motor skills and self-help skills. I found the techniques that were the most beneficial, were simple techniques that parents, grandparents, siblings and babysitters could easily learn and implement in fun, engaging and entertaining play. Really! No special training, no costly developmental toys, just simply you, your baby and a few basic toys and flash cards you probably already have in your house.
My goal with Play Away Delays is to build a community of families sharing successes and techniques with each other. Possibly in the near future structuring community Lending Libraries for books, resources and toys. Ultimately, my desire is to give parents the information and skills they need to start early, engaging their infant or toddler in beneficial, stimulating play that could possibly ward off further delays in development or communication.
